Tours
All airports have car rental facilities. Hotel and tour operators will usually provide transportation to and from the airport. Car rental agencies will only honour rental agreements upon the presentation of a valid credit card. As well, a valid drivers license from the country of origin and proof of age (25 years is the minimum) are needed.
Driving in the Dominican Republic is on the right hand side of the road. Gas is in Imperial (American) gallons. If visitors wish to use a rental car and public roadways they should be advised that there are road tolls. Taxis also offer an excellent way of getting around. Reates and fares are usually displayed on an information board. The taxis are yellow and display a logo on their doors issued by the Ministry of Tourism with the inscription "Taxi Turistico".
Tropical Tours is an experienced tour operator and destination management company that was established over 25 years ago. They are dedicated to providing high quality services, transfers, excursions, group offerings, and professional assistance in the Dominican Republic.
