La Romana enjoys a bustling art scene. The indigenous people of the island have always enjoyed artistic expression....this can be seen in the many caves containing taino cave drawings. The bright colours of the island are often reflected in the artists' work.

Artists and craftspeople often visit the resorts in the evenings selling their wares. Many artists also reside in the towns surrounding La Romana and a day trip to one of these destinations could be a rewarding endeavour.
