Guide Association

The La Romana-Bayahibe Guide Association works closely with the community. The Association has maintained that environmental good practices in the hotel industry "are neither a luxury nor a cost". The La Romana-Bayahibe Association sees this as "an investment in sustainability and competitiveness for the modern tourism industry, and thus their commitment to the environment and human development in the area."

The Association works diligently, ensuring that all the resources of this beautiful island can be effectively maintained to provide the least amount of environmental impact. The National Forest of the East is one such area, where environmental practices take centre stage over urban growth. The Bayahibe region, as well as Saona Island are also examples where eco-friendly tourism is paramount. With the help of all involved, communities and the tourism industry, it is our belief that with careful stewardship the La Romana - Bayahibe area will be kept pristine for many future generations to come.
