This beautiful island of approximately 15 km.², is a protected area that belongs to the National Park of the East. Tourists can leisurely enjoy the impressive white sand beach and a kilometers of warm, clear waters. 
Catalina Island is the second largest adjacent island to the Dominican Republic. Located 2 kilometers away from the coast of La Romana, becoming next to Bayahibe, the nearest preferred tourist destination.

A completely-uninhabited island, which contributes to the conservation of native plant and animal species that develop within its boundaries. The main area consists of a thick tropical forest.

Scuba & Snorkel
You can go diving or snorkeling in this tropical island. Definitely worth your while due to the beauty of its underwater cliff, a plethora of coral reefs and a depth of up to 60 meters from the northern coast of the island.
The Wall is one of the best places in the Caribbean for diving. A wonderful sea of coral and sponge platform, where the depth goes down over to 100 meters, with steps of 25 to 40 meters. Ideal site for diving.

The Aquarium is another important diving spot in Catalina, its favorable climatic conditions ensure a smooth immersion, certainly a favorite among tourists looking for underwater havens for their diving enjoyment. 
Submerge 14 meters underwater, its waters also hide artillery remains from ancient shipwrecks dating from a colonial era.
