Learn about the community's project, Discover Bayahibe, a guided tour throughout the village of Bayahibe, where you have the opportunity to mingle with its beloved Archeological dig sitepeople and explore archaeological sites dating from 2000 BC.

Typical houseAdmire the Pereskya Quisqueyana, also known as the Bayahibe Rose, an indigenous, endemic cactus species emblematical of the human virtues and natural values of this wonderful coastal town called Bayahibe.

Its local parish church, Parroquia Turística Santa María de Nazaret, built in 1925 by Archbishop Nouel, currently maintains its original wood structure.

Bayahibe's patron saint, La Divina Pastora, is displayed by land and sea, in a spectacular procession during the festivity, which go on from April 26th to May 2nd. During this time, traditional sailboat races are held, each ship handcrafted by its people, who use these boats to earn their living by fishing.
