Tourism Development Programs
Positioning La Romana-Bayahibe as an excellent tourist destination, both nationally and internationally and improving the quality of life of its residents, the La Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association has developed several projects to be implemented in the period 2010-2012.

Some of the programs that the La Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association passionately dedicates its efforts to are:

Florece La Romana sin Basura - Litter free bloom of La Romana
The prime objective of this work program is to keep La Romana Bayahibe free of debris.

Throughout the year participants of the private and public sectors come together to take part in cleanup campaigns, but the greatest achievement sought by the Association is to raise awareness among citizens and the commercial sector of the management of solid waste and how to generate less amounts of it.

Courses that address these issues and spread knowledge of sustainable tourism are also imparted.

 Dejando Huellas - Leaving Footprints
A program to plant trees in areas sensitive to the environmental impact in La Romana -- Bayahibe.

Bayahibe Technical Training Center

Blue Flag
It is a distinction that the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEEE), an independent organization, gives annually to those beaches that promote cleanliness and safety ,environmental education and the collective action to protect the coastal environment.

The beaches get the Blue Flag, by meeting criterias ranging from: bathing water quality, beach cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and providing information and environmental education activities by local authorities.

Bayahibe has been the first to receive this certification through plans and initiatives developed by La Romana - Bayahibe Hotel Association. Keeping this certification is a big responsibility and it is an ongoing commitment.
