About our Destination
Welcome to beautiful La Romana in the Dominican Republic!La Romana is the third largest city in the Dominican Republic. The city is the capital of the southeastern province of La Romana and is opposite Catalina Island. La Romana is a hub of tourist activity with several beachfront first class resorts, the bustling art centre of Altos de Chavon and a new La Romana International Airport that was completed in 2000. Originally the area was a sugar producing region. In fact, the new La Romana Airport is built in the style of an old sugar mill. However, the breathtaking beauty of La Romana could not be kept a secret for long. Today first class resorts coexist comfortably with nature. The Hotel Association of La Romana has taken every effort to ensure that the environment is not effected by this new development. The recent awarding of the Blue Flag Award, the first for a caribbean beach is reassurance that they are adhering to their mandate.
